Dr Thinn Thinn Khine is a dual-trained physician specialising in Endocrinology and Geriatric Medicine, with a particular focus on Endocrinology in Ageing.

Dr Khine’s clinical interests include diabetes management in older adults and metabolic bone disease.

Dr Khine completed her Endocrinology clinical training at Austin Health and Barwon Health and holds Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in both Endocrinology and Geriatric Medicine. Her training pathway reflects a long-standing interest in the complex interactions between ageing, metabolic disease, and chronic illness, particularly in populations with multimorbidity and functional vulnerability.

She has been the recipient of multiple competitive scholarships and travelling fellowships, including the Lions John Cockayne Memorial Fellowship (Monash Health) and an ANZSGM travelling fellowship. Through these initiatives, Dr Khine undertook a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Washington, Seattle, where her research focused on Type 2 diabetes, islet biology, and metabolic disease.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr Khine contributes to design-led medical research and healthcare innovation at Monash University’s Design Health Collab, where she advises on projects spanning medical technology, care environments, and patient experience. She is also a practising artist, with her creative work often reflecting on medicine, ageing, and lived patient experience.

Dr Khine is a member of the Endocrine Society of Australia, Australian Diabetes Society, Australian and New Zealand Society for Geriatric Medicine, and the Australian and New Zealand Bone and Mineral Society.
