Dr. Jasna Aleksova

Dr. Jasna Aleksova is an endocrinologist and distinguished research fellow at Monash University and an adjunct fellow at the Hudson Institute of Medical Research.

She graduated from the University of Melbourne and undertook physician training at St Vincent’s Hospital. She completed endocrine and diabetes specialist training at St Vincent’s and Monash health and continues to have strong affiliations with both hospitals.

Dr Aleksova completed a PhD in metabolic bone diseases with National Health and Medical Research Council funding and continues research endeavours amongst a broad a range of research interests relating to metabolic bone and hormone health. These include bone and endocrine health in chronic kidney disease, transplant recipients, chronic inflammatory conditions, menopause, cancer and bone, genetic conditions and osteoporosis in young patients.

She has been involved in the development of clinical practice guidelines and policy implementation and is currently the chair of the clinical practice committee of the Australian and New Zealand Bone and Mineral Society (ANZBMS).

Dr. Aleksova is a medical advisor for the therapeutics goods administration (TGA) and has also been on the editorial board and peer reviews for multiple international bone and endocrine journals. She is involved in osteoporosis education programs for endocrinologists and physicians, general practitioners, and medical trainees.

Dr Aleksova is a staff specialist at Monash Health and St. Vincent’s Health Melbourne, and works in the metabolic bone clinics, but also has interests in all aspects of general endocrinology, menopause and women’s health and works in the dedicated endocrine & pregnancy service at Monash Health.
